Theaterfestival de Parade 2020 cancelled

The 30th edition of Theaterfestival de Parade has been cancelled due to government measures. We are touched by the news, as the festival cannot be held in its original form. Depending on the conditions, we will consider alternative forms. Of course, safety is most important in all decisions.

This year we were ready to travel through the Netherlands for the thirtieth time with our mobile theatre festival. For the very first time we would open our gates in Eindhoven and then travel with all artists, theatre tents, caravans and restaurants to The Hague, Utrecht and Amsterdam.

One of the things that makes the Parade so special according to many is the connection between artists and audience. It is precisely in this time that the need for proximity, seeking each other, inspiring and telling stories is so tangible. Unfortunately, this is not possible this summer, as of course the health of the employees, makers and the public is paramount. The decision not to continue with the Parade 2020 has major consequences for the organization, the hundreds of artists, the restaurateurs, the musicians and partners.

In the summer of 2021, our traveling theatre festival will rebuild its tents in the five largest cities in the Netherlands: Eindhoven, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Amsterdam.
