A Shadow Can See is the audio-visual music theatre performance by performer Gavin-Viano, video artist Wes Broersen & animator Viktor Adriaansens. It tells the story of a shadow longing to be seen as a worthy, independent living thing. Through a Motion Capture suit, the shadow of Gavin-Viano is digitalized & it’s visual form takes over. This is all combined with live percussion players & hardhitting, electronic beats.
In previous productions, the skin colour & the sexual orientation of Gavin-Viano were always leading. For his own production he would like to turn that around & transform into the shadow as the main character. A fluid experience where human appearances. & sexual preference aren’t an issue. The audience can expect creative design, eclectic sounds & intricate movement; all turned into 1, cohesive story
